Candidates are drawn from FAA airworthiness certificate filings and public eVTOL manufacturer registries. Each is checked for an active FAA Special Airworthiness Certificate or equivalent test authorization, granted patents covering the aircraft's core systems, and a verifiable manned test-flight record.
Public disclosures, regulatory filings and press coverage are read for recurring themes, with particular weight on flight-test milestones actually achieved versus roadmap claims, safety-system disclosure, and transparency about certification timelines and delivery dates. Regulatory filings and investor materials are reviewed for the preceding 36 months.
